Set within the landscape of Austin, Sweet Autumn Cove is a home shaped by connection, longevity and daily routines. Designed as a place for family to come together across generations, the residence champions openness with each space serving its own purpose, feeling both expansive and functional.

Originally conceived as a retreat for a couple relocating to be closer to their grandchildren, the home centers around the idea of gathering. A single-story, U-shaped layout wraps around a private courtyard, allowing natural light and greenery to move through the interiors while creating moments of privacy and calm.

Inside, the architecture unfolds with a sense of minimal structure. The formal living, dining and den are open spaces that flow together, while simultaneously divided to retains its own identity. This balance between openness and separation creates a home that adapts easily, suited for large family gatherings and more intimate, daily moments.

Materiality plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere. A limestone exterior anchors the home in its Central Texas context, while wide oak flooring introduces warmth and texture throughout the interiors. These natural elements create a sense of continuity, connecting the home to its surroundings while reinforcing a feeling of comfort and permanence.

At the heart of the home, the kitchen serves as the perfect gathering space. Designed with openness in mind, it brings together dining and living functions in a way that encourages lingering whether it’s for everyday meals or large celebrations. Within this space, details are carefully curated. Classic Brass cabinet hardware in a polished nickel finish introduces a refined contrast against cabinetry, including the Ball Knob and Ridge Appliance Pull. These elements offer both function and visual rhythm, reinforcing the kitchen’s tailored yet approachable feel.

In more intimate spaces, such as the bathrooms, material and finish continue to play a defining role. The Classic Brass Lucille Ball Knob with band in polished nickel adds a subtle layer of detail elevating everyday interactions through texture and craftsmanship.

This shift in finish adds a slight variation, creating distinction and individuality.

Layered throughout the home is a variety of hardware further enriching the overall composition. Selections from Ashley Norton and Colonial Bronze contribute additional depth and character, while Emtek door hardware provides a cohesive foundation across each space. Together, these elements create a soft interplay of finishes and forms, reinforcing a sense of continuity while allowing each room to feel distinct.

Throughout the residence, thoughtful detailing elevates each space. Tailored cabinetry, refined finishes and hand-selected hardware contribute to a greater interior language, one that feels purposeful without being overstated. Each element works in harmony, reinforcing the home’s overarching sense of ease and livability.

The design also considers the future. With aging-in-place principles integrated into the layout, the home is designed to evolve alongside its owners, supporting comfort and accessibility over time. This forward-thinking approach ensures that the home remains functional and welcoming for years to come, without compromising its aesthetic integrity.
